Install and update the CLI

Install

Choose one channel. Taskbean records the channel in ~/.taskbean/.install-channel so bean upgrade can use the matching update path.

npm install -g taskbean

curl -fsSL https://taskbean.ai/install | bash

iwr -useb https://taskbean.ai/install.ps1 | iex

winget install taskbean.taskbean

The npm package requires Node.js 22.13.0 or later. Compiled binaries do not require Node.js.

Check without changing anything:

bean upgrade --check

Preview the update plan:

bean upgrade --dry-run

Apply the update:

bean upgrade

Set TASKBEAN_NO_UPGRADE_NOTICE=1 in CI or scripts to suppress interactive update notices.

Preview what Taskbean will remove:

bean uninstall --dry-run

Keep local task data:

bean uninstall --keep-data

Scan a directory for manually installed Taskbean skills:

bean uninstall --scan ~/projects

If you installed through npm, finish with:

npm uninstall -g taskbean
